Quality

What makes a quality coil?

We believe our quality insulation and varnish system provides a best in class product that will fit your needs for whatever the application.  We specialize in a variety of products and can provide multiple insulation systems.

Process and Equipment

Process:

We wrap our coils in multi-layer VPI Mica Tapes with glass or polyester overlay.  This allows the resin to impregnate all the layers providing electrical insulation and bond strength for the coil.

Equipment:

  1. We have two Elantas PDG resin systems.  The solvent based Epoxy U475, used on many of our coils, is our dip and bake resin. This resin provides exceptional bond strength to endure the life of the motor.
  2. The other, PB302LV, is a poly butadiene system, which is approved for traction motors and coils.  We process traction motor coils in the VPI (Vacuum- Pressure Impregnation) for full impregnation allowing the material thermal expansion and contraction properties, therefore providing a long-lasting coil and motor.  We are one of the few that builds traction motor coils with this resin.
